JCS Shalom Bayit Helps Survivors of Domestic Abuse

As we close out October — Domestic Violence Awareness Month — Federation wants to remind our community about Shalom Bayit (Peace in the Home), the domestic abuse assistance program. Serving hundreds of individuals and families across Miami-Dade County since its inception in 2006, Shalom Bayit was created by our social services partner, Jewish Community Services of South Florida (JCS). It offers compassionate, confidential support with uniquely Jewish sensitivities to help survivors break free from abuse and rebuild safe, empowered lives. Shalom Bayit staff trains law enforcement officers in Jewish culture and traditions so they can be knowledgeable when interacting with clients. The program also accommodates kosher and religious needs. For immediate, strictly confidential assistance, call the JCS Shalom Bayit Hotline at 305.576.1818.
