Kosher Food Distribution in South Dade Gives Help to Many

Kosher Food

Tuesday was a morning of tikkun olam (repairing the world) with the Greater Miami Jewish Federation Kosher Food Distribution at the Alper JCC Miami. Volunteers distributed kosher chicken, challah, fresh produce and nonperishable food to more than 1,000 people. As a special holiday gift, families with children also received a stuffed teddy bear. The event was coordinated by Federation Jewish Volunteer Center in partnership with South Dade synagogues, the Alper JCC Miami, City National Bank, Farm Share, Jewish Community Services Kosher Food Bank, Miami-Dade County and Repair the World Miami. This was the latest in a series of Federation efforts to combat food insecurity, including the pre-Chanukah distribution of grocery cards to clients of the Kosher Food Bank, thanks to the generosity of the Saul Schottenstein Foundation.
