Local Peer Support Group in Formation for Grieving Parents

If you or someone you know has suffered the unimaginable loss of a teen or adult child, you may be interested in a new local peer support group for grieving parents, presented by Federation’s Mishkan Miami. The Parents’ Bereavement Group will provide a safe and caring space for members who understand the devastation of losing a child to share personal experiences, give and receive comfort, forge new friendships and gain valuable support for coping during Jewish holidays, anniversaries and other special dates. The initiative is a collaboration between the Children’s Bereavement Center, local social workers, therapists and Jewish chaplains. Plans are underway for online meetings every other Wednesday evening, beginning September 17 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. with the possible addition of face-to-face gatherings and a private Facebook group that members can access 24 hours a day. To register for the Parents’ Bereavement Group, click here or call Rabbi Frederick Klein at 786.866.8620 for additional assistance.
