Federation Support Drives Meaningful Change for Israelis With Disabilities
After more than a decade of advocacy, Federation partner Beit Issie Shapiro has helped secure an important victory for Israeli children with disabilities and their families. Previously, children attending extended-hours special education programs often lost access to free transportation home, placing additional pressure on parents. Now, eligible children can remain in these programs and still receive transportation home. At a time when Israeli families continue to navigate the emotional and psychological aftermath of October 7, this change offers one less worry. Supported by Federation’s Annual Campaign, Beit Issie Shapiro is a global leader in innovative therapies, assistive technology and professional training. Its work also extends to advocacy and public policy, breaking down barriers and creating a more inclusive society for people with disabilities.
