Providing Midwife Support to Pregnant Israeli Women During War

Years of war in Israel have brought unexpected challenges to thousands of pregnant women, and Federation is providing vital support to them every day. Whether they are grieving a loved one killed in the war, spending months separated from their partner serving in the reserves or have been evacuated from home or prepared to give birth under rocket fire, these women have lived through extraordinary circumstances. Through our partnership with the Israel Midwives Association, Federation is ensuring that teams of midwives are available 24/7 via telephone and in-person support and helping them in the event of an unexpected birthing situation. To date, Federation has assisted 3,291 women before, during and after childbirth, including 911 wives of reservists. Click here to watch a video about this special program.
