Federation Morocco Mission Told the Story of Jewish Resilience

“Our mission to Morocco reminded us that our story is one of resilience and unwavering commitment to Jewish identity,” said Greater Miami Jewish Federation General Campaign Chair Elise Udelson, who co-chaired the journey with husband Ronny. A group of Federation leaders recently returned from Morocco, where they explored over 2,500 years of Jewish Moroccan culture and history. Whether visiting synagogues, a Jewish day school, a home for the elderly or the local JCC, they saw the impact of Federation's Annual Campaign and our partnership with the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee. Private meetings with dignitaries, including Israel's Ambassador to Morocco and the US Consul General, and local community leaders provided insight into the vibrant Jewish community that existed at its core and the hope that remains for its future. The mission underlined Federation's commitment to care for those in need and strengthen Jewish life wherever and whenever a need exists.
