Nominations Sought for 2013 Outstanding Volunteer Award

The Jewish Volunteer Center (JVC) of the Greater Miami Jewish Federation is now accepting nominations for its 2013 Outstanding Volunteer Award.

This annual award recognizes and honors the efforts of people in Miami’s Jewish community who are dedicated to making a difference in the lives of others and improving the world through volunteerism.

“We are proud to have the opportunity to publicly thank those who have demonstrated a commitment to the highest ideals and practices of volunteer services,” said Mark Kravitz, Chair of the Jewish Volunteer Center. “Some of these volunteers are well-known in our community, while others work tirelessly behind the scenes. We appreciate the help of our community in identifying these exceptional people.”

Nominations may be made for one or more outstanding youth, teen, college student, adult or senior volunteers. The following factors should be considered when recommending a volunteer for this award:
          • Scope & depth of service (direct and hands-on)
          • Impact on the lives of others and the community
          • Extent of ingenuity and creativity in their volunteer efforts to solve community problems
          • Depth of commitment
