Federation Collecting Funds for Victims of Japan/Pacific Earthquake and Tsunami
As part of the Jewish community’s response to the 8.9 magnitude earthquake and ensuing tsunami that struck Japan on March 11, 2011 and affected areas along the Pacific Ocean, the Greater Miami Jewish Federation is collecting funds to provide immediate humanitarian aid to victims and their families. One hundred percent of all contributions to this fund are being allocated directly to the relief effort.

Federation is working closely with The Jewish Federations of North America (JFNA) and overseas partners – including the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee and IsraAid, an Israel-based organization for 17 Israeli and Jewish humanitarian groups – to monitor the situation in affected areas and deploy rescue and relief teams to help victims.
To keep updated about the situation and the Federation response, visit JFNA’s Japan/Pacific Earthquake and Tsunami Relief page. The page features reports about relief efforts by Jewish Federations and other Jewish groups. JFNA will continue to provide reports as necessary.
