Providing Emotional Support During Israel’s War With Iran

For years, Federation’s partner, the Israel Trauma Coalition (ITC), has provided emotional support for Israelis in the aftermath of terror attacks, so the nonprofit was able to quickly assist thousands during the recent war with Iran. Staffed with experts in mental health care and educators in trauma relief and stress reduction, ITC works year-round on the ground to help Israelis with allocations from our Annual Campaign and Israel Emergency Fund. Its impact is evident: During the Israel-Iran War, ITC provided trauma care to 1,300 people and emotional first aid to 1,650 people; 359 stress-relief workshops helped evacuees in hotels. More than 2,000 people contacted ITC for the first time during the war. To help Israelis help each other, ITC also held 68 training sessions for municipal teams (servicing 1,700 participants) and 1,758 people took part in workshops to learn how to deliver difficult news to others.
