Federation Responds Immediately to
Crisis in Israel

Thanks to generous donations to the Annual Greater Miami Jewish Federation/UJA Campaign, Federation is able to respond immediately to the crisis in Israel. Our overseas partners who are on the ground 365 days a year jumped into action to assist those who are hurting. It is another reminder that: This is exactly why Federation exists. The Federation system is already helping the people of Israel with relief from trauma, terror and loss and providing necessities as they begin to look ahead to recover and rebuild.

  • Extra support for The Jewish Agency Fund for Victims of Terror, which provides immediate cash relief to victims and their families within 24 hours after an attack
  • Psychological services and intervention for 3,000 olim (immigrants) and program participants living in Jewish Agency absorption centers in the south and for 900 children who are already displaying signs of trauma
  • Emergency individual and group psychological services for the 120 Jewish Agency employees based in absorption centers in Israel’s southern region
  • Grants to assist the more than 7,000 Masa fellows currently in-country, some of whom live in the south and have been under heavy rocket fire
  • Trauma care for first responders including individual and group therapy and resiliency workshops
  • Virtual services to help thousands of people living with disabilities stay connected and get the assistance they need during rocket attacks and the aftermath
  • Newly-developed technologies to monitor the health and wellbeing of Holocaust Survivors
  • Social and material support to the poorest and most at-risk children and families unable to work due to school closures and travel safety concern
