Shalom Bayit Provides Free, Confidential Support for Domestic Abuse Survivors
October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and Shalom Bayit (Peace in the Home) helps survivors and their families find safety, stability and hope year-round. Initiated by Federation Women's Philanthropy and now a program of Federation’s social services partner, Jewish Community Services of South Florida (JCS), Shalom Bayit has served thousands across Miami-Dade County, including more than 100 children affected by domestic abuse in the past year alone. Shalom Bayit helps survivors with counseling, legal assistance, case management, support groups and other critical services. The program also trains law enforcement in Jewish culture and traditions and can accommodate clients' religious and kosher needs. For immediate, strictly confidential assistance, call the JCS Shalom Bayit Hotline at 305.576.1818.
