Small Business Loan Fund: Helping Israelis Succeed and Paying it Forward

Federation is helping nearly 3,500 small and family-run businesses in Israel preserve their livelihoods and support the wider circle that depends on them — their employees, suppliers and the families behind every paycheck. For the past two and a half years, small business owners in Israel have been struggling to keep doors open while making payroll. The Small Business Loan Fund, managed by the national Federation system, has mobilized approximately $90 million by turning individual philanthropy into sustainable, revolving loans. As loans are repaid, the same dollars are reloaned, allowing one act of generosity to stabilize many lives, strengthening local economies and community resilience across Israel, one business at a time.
