Federation Supports Special Needs in Israel

Your donations to the Federation/UJA Annual Campaign support a number of important Israeli organizations focused on serving communities with special needs. Me and My Mommy, a program of Shalva-The Israeli Association for Care and Inclusion of Persons With Disabilities, provides one-on-one early intervention therapy for infants with differing abilities up to 18 months and their parents including physiotherapy, hydrotherapy, occupational and speech therapy and therapeutic massage. Shalva has been able to successfully alter the majority of its rehabilitative programs to meet COVID-19 safety regulations. Additionally, Orthodox Union Israel-Yachad Israel, offers a two-and-a-half-week summer camp in the Golan Heights in Israel for adults with disabilities, where they will enjoy recreational programming and vocational training, gain new skills and improve their social interaction. Federation also continues its annual support of Beit Issie Shapiro, a leading organization that develops and provides services for children and adults across the range of disabilities while advocating for more inclusive legislation.
