Federation Support Continues in Israel’s Agricultural Sector

Federation is funding efforts to rebuild northern Israel’s farms devastated in the war with Hezbollah with a $1 million grant. Through a partnership with ReGrow, the same Israeli initiative that assisted agricultural recovery in the Gaza envelope, Federation will help restore 230 plots of land that will yield at least 9 million apples annually. When terrorist missiles land in an open area, everyone breathes a sigh of relief — except the farmers — as that open space is usually someone’s agricultural field. Damage has been extensive over the past year, with Hezbollah strikes launched from Lebanon resulting in more than $100 million of destruction to northern Israel’s agriculture industry. ReGrow Executive Director Danielle Abraham shared, “What I see in our farmers today on the borders is this unbelievable determination, courage and vision that they’re not going anywhere, that this is who they are.”
