Supporting Israel’s Growth in the Western Negev

Federation continues to support Israel as the country rebuilds areas devastated on October 7. Federation President and CEO Scott Kaufman was among the hundreds of Jewish leaders who attended the ribbon-cutting for the Western Negev Building Project, which aims to build up to 1,000 new housing units across southern Israel. Taking place at Kibbutz Ein HaShlosha, which was brutally attacked on October 7, the launch of the project marks the transition from recovery to renewal and will help lay the foundation for long-term demographic and economic growth. Working with The Jewish Agency for Israel and other entities, Jewish Federations are helping fund the effort through Rebuild Israel, their strategic initiative focusing on long-term societal recovery and economic revitalization.

Helping Kibbutz Or HaNer Heal 

Over three years, a total of $750,000 will be allocated to help residents heal from the economic and physical losses and trauma of October 7.

Prioritizing Mental Health at Camp

Camper Care helps camper groups deal with their emotions and build coping strategies while BeWell trainings give camp staff the tools to respond to campers’ emotional needs.

Western Negev Building Project Launches

Federation President and CEO Scott Kaufman was one of hundreds of Jewish community leaders from around the world to recently attend the cornerstone-laying ceremony of the Western Negev Building Project in Israel — an initiative to bring up to 1,000 new housing units to the area.

Ukraine’s Resilient Jewish Community

Ukrainian Jews continue to rely on the Federation system for emergency aid, food, medicine, trauma support, Jewish education and communal connection.
