Supporting Lone Soldiers During Operation Iron Swords

As the brave men and women of the Israel Defense Forces continue to defend our spiritual homeland in Operation Iron Swords, Federation is supporting thousands of lone soldiers, individuals who have made aliyah to Israel alone and lack the support network of friends and family typically available to their native Israeli peers. Federation’s partner, The Jewish Agency for Israel, provides an anchor for these lone soldiers, many who have been injured— physically and psychologically — through its Wings program. As the IDF’s designated partner, Wings offers a comprehensive and multifaceted support program for lone soldiers throughout their army service and when the time comes to transition back into civilian life. From care packages with thoughtful essentials for wounded soldiers and bedside hospital visits that bring well wishes, to group mental health workshops, financial assistance for unemployed reservists and much more, Wings bridges the gap, empowering and supporting IDF members for up to two years following their discharge.
