Three Miami JCCs Join Together to Benefit Yerucham

Young athletes from across Jewish Miami recently took to the field of the Miami Beach JCC for a Flag Football Tournament in memory of Yerucham’s fallen soldiers and victims of terror. Created jointly by Miami’s three Federation-supported JCCs — Michael-Ann Russell JCC, Miami Beach JCC and Alper JCC Miami — the tournament was organized by Federation’s Israeli Shlichim (emissaries), Merchi and Alon Attias. Merchi grew up in Yerucham and she and her husband have been working hard to strengthen the Miami-Yerucham partnership since their arrival last fall. The tournament is the latest activity of the partnership’s Movilim Project, where staff from the three local JCCs and the Yerucham Community Center have visited each other’s communities and deepened their understanding of Jewish peoplehood.
