UF Hillel Wins National Award for Innovative Initiative

Mazal tov to the University of Florida (UF) Hillel for being honored with the Eleanor Meyerhoff Katz Innovation Award during last month’s Hillel International Global Assembly in Dallas! The achievement recognizes the best Jewish innovations created on campus that are bold, unique and impactful on the student body. UF was awarded for their Spread Cream Cheese, Not Hate initiative and received $5,000 to continue crafting modern programming and initiatives for Jewish students. Founded in 2020, the program occurs on National Bagel Day and is an imaginative way to combat antisemitism and all forms of hate at UF and in surrounding communities. UF Hillel is one of seven Florida Hillels supported by the Annual Greater Miami Jewish Federation/UJA Campaign; the others are Central Florida Hillel, Hillel at FIU, Hillel at FSU, Hillel of Broward and Palm Beach, Hillels of the Florida Suncoast and UM Hillel.
