Talented Media Team Covering Miami Mega Mission
As participants of the Greater Miami Jewish Federation’s Miami Mega Mission visit sites and enjoy events across Israel and Poland – they will be sharing memories to last a lifetime. To help preserve these moments for mission-goers and those back home, Federation has arranged for television and newspaper reporters, as well as professional photographers and videographers, to be with the mission every step of the way.
Ted Scouten and Rafael Murciano of WFOR CBS 4 are traveling with the Pre-Mission to Poland, recording and sharing the impressions and activities of the 140 participants, including Holocaust survivors, as they tour significant sites of the Holocaust and pre-war Poland. Stories are expected to air locally on the Miami-based television station.
When the El Al charter plane leaves Miami on Sunday, April 22, onboard will be award-winning WSVN-TV Channel 7 reporter Rosh Lowe and cameraman Luis Abadi, who will send home a variety of stories from Israel. In addition to local reports, Lowe has covered major national stories and has appeared numerous times on CNN and Fox News Channel with his breaking news and exclusives. As this is his first trip to Israel, he will be sharing the excitement of other “first-timers.”
Award-winning photographer Randi Sidman-Moore, who has documented past Mega Missions for Federation, also is joining the mission. Her clients include Madonna, Celine Dion and many other celebrities, as well as American Express, L’Oreal and Pfizer. Sidman-Moore’s images will be posted daily on Federation’s dedicated website for all Mega Mission coverage, MiamiMegaMissionLive.org.
Emmy-award winning filmmaker Jerry Levine, of Levine Films, will be sharing the excitement on film and video. Formerly a TV news anchor on WPLG-TV Channel 10, Levine now spends most of his time behind the camera producing films for an extensive client list, including Burger King, Air France and Hotels.com. Levine is being joined by his colleague, Michael Behar, and the two will create a souvenir video to be shared with Miami Mega Mission participants at the end of the journey.
The Miami Herald also plans to cover the mission. In addition, participants are being invited to blog, tweet and send back stories for MiamiMegaMissionLive.org. Tweet to #miamimegamission.
