Hebrew Academy Lady Warriors Win The Captain Hyman P. Galbut Basketball Tournament

Congratulations to the Hebrew Academy (RASG) Varsity Lady Warriors for winning the 8th Annual Captain Hyman P. Galbut Shabbaton recently, defeating Weinbaum Yeshiva, 34-24, in a game that tipped off before a standing room-only crowd at the Miami Beach-JCC. With their second Shabbaton championship in the past three years, winning six games in the process, Hebrew Academy (22-1) finishes the season with a school-record for wins, while also winning the District 14-2A championship in consecutive year. Tournament MVP Bari Gordon finished with 18 points and 12 rebounds, as she overcame double-teams from an aggressive Storm defense to carry H.A. to the win. Hailey Dobin, who won the tournament’s 3-Point Shootout, added 10 points, and Aliza Widroff hit a key 3-pointer after YHS cut the lead to 2 points late in the game. Mazal tov to Coach Robyn Malek and the Lady Warriors on a record-setting season, and special congratulations to senior, Bari Gordon, on capping her incredible career with two championship in her final season!!!
