“Everything but the Turkey”: A Pre-Thanksgiving Volunteer Opportunity
Join hundreds of volunteers on Monday, November 19 and Tuesday, November 20 to lend a hand in preparing more than 1,500 servings of food for the hungry in South Florida. Sponsored by the Jewish Volunteer Center (JVC) of the Greater Miami Jewish Federation and Florida Blue, the Fourth Annual “Everything but the Turkey” program will provide side dishes, appetizers and all the fixings for a traditional Thanksgiving meal.
“Florida Blue is extraordinarily proud of our longstanding commitment to the Greater Miami Jewish Federation,” said Doug Bartel, Director of External Relations for Florida Blue. “Our mission is to enable people and communities achieve better health, and supporting GMJF and specifically this year’s Thanksgiving event are great examples of that mission in action.”
North Dade volunteers will meet on November 19 at Aventura Turnberry Jewish Center, 20400 NE 30 Avenue, Aventura, and South Dade volunteers will meet on November 20 at Temple Beth Am, 5950 N. Kendall Drive, Pinecrest. The program takes place from 5 to 7 p.m. each day. Family-friendly projects will be available, and all ages are welcome. Space is limited for this meaningful volunteer opportunity.

Everything but the Turkey is being led this year by North Dade Chair Jonathan Kravitz and South Dade Chair Melissa Buckner. Mark Kravitz is Chair of the Jewish Volunteer Center.
The mission of the JVC is to provide a central clearinghouse for volunteers in the Miami Jewish community and to strengthen the entire community through high-quality, hands-on volunteer projects and service learning initiatives.
