Miami JCCs Participated in JCC Maccabi Games in Toronto and Kansas City
Alper JCC Miami and Miami Beach JCC proudly represented Jewish Miami in last week’s JCC Maccabi Games in Toronto and Kansas City. In total, 3,000 teens from around the world gathered to celebrate sportsmanship and Jewish spirit. In Toronto, 21 athletes, ages 13-17, from Alper JCC Miami, competed in boys and girls basketball, soccer, dance and Access, a program for athletes with disabilities. They won multiple medals, including two gold in dance. “It was a historic week,” said Alper CMO Greg Feldman, “filled with competition, connection, Jewish pride and memories that will last a lifetime.” Miami Beach brought 19 competitors to Kansas City for 17U and 13U boys basketball, winning silver and bronze medals. Swimmer Mia Samuels took five medals, including one gold. “We are so proud of all those who represented our community so well,” said Miami Beach JCC CEO Paul Frishman.
