Beit Issie Extends Their Reach

For the past year, Beit Issie Shapiro has been expanding its work to help Israelis with disabilities cope with ongoing trauma as a result of the horrors of October 7. Through Federation's Israel Emergency Fund, Beit Issie has been welcoming families from Israel’s north and south into their Ra’anana facility for therapy services free of charge, including private and group therapy and access to the sensory room, sports center and indoor heated pool. Beyond day-to-day services, Beit Issie clients are receiving additional emotional therapy in unique ways. Maya, who has bipolar disorder and is healing from the murder of her boyfriend at the Tribe of Nova Music Festival, has been using Beit Issie’s webinars to learn how to better handle trauma and anxiety, including emotional regulation techniques and coping mechanisms. As a result, her nightmares have lessened and she is able to face another day. Learn more about our work in Israel here.
