“End of Life” Series to Examine Jewish Perspectives on Hospice and Palliative Care
Rabbi Dr. Barry M. Kinzbrunner, Executive Vice President and Chief Medical Officer of Vita Innovative Hospice Care, will analyze the “Jewish Perspectives on Hospice and Palliative Care” during a free public program presented by Mount Sinai Medical Center and the Jewish Chaplaincy Program of the Greater Miami Jewish Federation on Monday, February 25. The program will begin at 5:30 p.m. in Mount Sinai Medical Center’s Founders Conference Room, 4300 Alton Road, Miami Beach.
The presentation is the third in a four-part education series, entitled “Speaking About the End of Life.”
Rabbi Dr. Kinzbrunner is board certified in internal medicine, medical oncology, and hospice and palliative medicine. A pioneer in hospice and palliative care, he has been working in the field since 1984 and has published extensively on the subject and its Jewish perspective.
Barbara Black Goldfarb, immediate past Chair of the Board of the Greater Miami Jewish Federation and Board member of Mount Sinai Hospital, is chairing the series.
The final part of the “Speaking about End of Life” series will take place on May 2 at Mount Sinai Medical Center. It will feature Rabbi Elliot Dorff, Rector, Sol & Anne Dorff Distinguished Service Professor in Philosophy and Chair of the Rabbinical Assembly’s Committee on Jewish Law and Standards, who will discuss “Jewish Advanced Directives and Jewish Medical Ethics.”
