Join Federation and Your Family for 2014: An Israel Odyssey

The Greater Miami Jewish Federation invites families from all over Miami-Dade County to take part in 2014: An Israel Odyssey, an exciting summer family mission across Israel June 8 through 18, 2014.

Chaired by Allison and Jerry Sokol, this special family-themed adventure will take participants across our beautiful Jewish homeland, with stops in Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, Tsfat and Pardes Channa-Karkur, among other spectacular locations.

During their 10 days in Israel, families will be able to choose from dozens of activities and attractions, from kayaking the Jordan River, zip-lining along the Manara Cliffs, and hiking up Masada, to touring the Elite Chocolate Factory, walking the historic pathways of the Old City and visiting an Israeli Defense Forces base—just to name a few.

Throughout the mission, participants will be led by private guides and youth counselors in air-conditioned tour buses. Guests will spend five nights at the spectacular David Citadel Hotel in Jerusalem, three nights at the Kfar Blum Kibbutz Hotel in Northern Israel and one night at a beachfront, five-star hotel in Tel Aviv. Mission-goers will savor kosher meals and fabulous Israeli breakfasts.

Young teens becoming a Bar or Bat Mitzvah will also have the opportunity to perform their Torah portion at a special ceremony in Jerusalem. Families can also partake in a Kabbalat Shabbat at the Kotel (Western Wall).

The summer family mission is a community partnership of Aventura Turnberry Jewish Center, Bet Breira Samu-El Or Olom, Bet Shira Congregation, Beth Torah Benny Rok Campus, the Galbut Family Miami Beach JCC, Temple Beth Am, Temple Israel of Greater Miami, other area synagogues and Jewish community centers, together with the Greater Miami Jewish Federation.

Registration for the mission is now open. Click here to get started. Land only prices are based on standard/superior rooms. Any room upgrades will incur an additional charge and are based on availability. Prices include one night deluxe hotel in Tel Aviv; three nights in a kibbutz guest house; four nights plus late check-out in a deluxe hotel in Jerusalem; breakfast daily, seven dinners and six lunches; eight days of touring in deluxe air-conditioned motor bus; water on bus; English-speaking guide; security on bus; hostess and youth counselors; basic suggested gratuities; assistance at airport and transfers from and to Ben-Gurion Airport when traveling with the group flights; entrance fees per itinerary; and medical and accident insurance in Israel.

All participants will be asked to make a meaningful contribution to the Annual Greater Miami Jewish Federation/UJA Campaign to help support Jewish needs in Miami, in Israel and worldwide.
