Ukrainian Homecare Workers Attend Continuing Education Seminars

For more than three and a half years, homecare workers in Ukraine have been providing lifesaving support for tens of thousands of the country’s vulnerable Jews — the elderly, children, newly impoverished, internally displaced and more. These caring and committed individuals demonstrate the impact of Federation and our partners, reminding us that if you are a Jew in this world, you are never alone. Quality care begins with quality training, which is why homecare workers in Odesa and Poltava recently participated in seminars designed to strengthen their professional skills and offer tools for managing stress. The trainings focused on new approaches to support, the importance of self-care and key ethical questions in caregiving, along with several creative and reflective sessions. “Each of these trainings imparts not only knowledge, but also the power of a community, where everyone can share experiences and find support and inspiration,” noted one of the participants. “A true professional never stops learning — especially when you work with people who need care every day.”
