Volunteers at Kosher Food Distributions Make a Difference in the Community

Distribution

“We’re helping parents and families who are dealing with COVID. It’s satisfying to give back to the community.” These are the words of Jacobo Fux, a graduate student at the University of Miami, who volunteered at Federation’s Kosher Food Distribution Drive-Thru last Thursday, April 8. Fux joined 25 volunteers who packed bags of fresh produce, challah, kosher meat and non-perishables and placed them in nearly 300 cars, serving more than 1,100 individuals. Partners in the bimonthly events include Federation’s Jewish Volunteer Center, our primary human service agency Jewish Community Services of South Florida, Repair the World Miami, Farm Share and Miami-Dade County. Our next Kosher Food Distribution Drive-Thru will be on Thursday, April 22 from 9-11 a.m. at Federation headquarters, 4200 Biscayne Boulevard.
