This week, a delegation of leaders from The Jewish Federations of North America and Federation’s overseas partner The Jewish Agency for Israel, including five members of our Miami Jewish community, traveled to Ethiopia. They spent time meeting with families waiting to immigrate to Israel and visited sites of historical significance to Ethopian Jewry. Dear _______,
As we continue to recover from the effects of the pandemic, our brothers and sisters in Ukraine are facing unimaginable danger. Through your donation to the Annual Greater Miami Jewish Federation/UJA Campaign, an existing network of humanitarian agencies were able to spring into action immediately to provide rescue, relief and resettlement for the 200,000 Jews living in the war-torn country.
While all eyes are on Ukraine, Federation continues to support a variety of critical needs in Miami and Israel.
Since the pandemic began, we have served more than 40,000 individuals and families through 32 Free Kosher Food Distribution Drive-Thrus.
In the aftermath of the catastrophic collapse of Champlain Towers South in Surfside, we contributed more than $1.6 million in direct financial assistance to survivors of the tragedy and their families.
Federation provided 10 Jewish day schools with an additional $2 million to sustain their essential work through the pandemic, while following new health and safety guidelines. This is in addition to the more than $1.8 million that the Annual Campaign already provides for Jewish day school education.
THIS IS EXACTLY WHY FEDERATION EXISTS
Our holy work on behalf of the Jewish community relies on you.
