The Jewish Volunteer Center (JVC) and the Holocaust Memorial Miami Beach of the Greater Miami Jewish Federation are offering the Young Lion of Judah Program -- two unique B'nai Mitzvah leadership projects for students becoming Bar or Bat Mitzvah before August 2022.
Project #1: Students can partner with a Holocaust Survivor while working toward completing 10 hours of community service. The program begins on Sunday, October 24, 2021 and ends on Sunday, January 30, 2022. Participants will meet virtually with their peers for three programs on Holocaust education. In addition, participants will meet in small-group Zoom rooms with their Survivor partner to build a new friendship and learn to tell their story. All participants will be asked to honor their Survivor partner at their Bar/Bat Mitzvah service.
