Inspired by their upcoming production of The Lehman Trilogy, GableStage welcomes Dr. Josh Parshall of the Goldring/ Woldenberg Institute for Southern Jewish Life to share insights combining the history of cotton production in the US South with southern Jewish histories. Learn how Jewish migrants found their way to emerging market hubs, and in many cases, came to occupy prominent positions in social and civic life. And explore how this history illuminates Jewish relationships to race and racism in the United States and observe how changes in cotton production have shaped and reshaped Jewish communities in much of the rural South.
Attendees of the program will receive discounted tickets to The Lehman Trilogy which runs at GablesStage from March 14th–April 21st.
The Hub at Temple Beth Am, 5950 N. Kendall Drive, Miami
