Basel, Bagels and MenorART
On a recent Sunday morning, as art lovers flocked to Art Basel, young Jewish artists gathered at the Greater Miami Jewish Federation for bagels and menorah-making. The event, presented by PJ Library in Miami and the Young Leadership Division Young Families, attracted more than 80 children and their parents, who transformed plastic dinosaurs and animals into creative Chanukah candelabras.
“Basel, Bagels and MenorART” is just the latest in a large number of events presented throughout the year by PJ Library, a program of the Greater Miami Jewish Federation that promotes a love of reading while sharing Jewish values and traditions. Families in Miami-Dade County with children ages six months to eight years old can sign up with PJ Library to receive free Jewish-themed children’s books, music and DVDs sent directly to their homes each month. PJ Library is funded nationally in partnership with The Harold Grinspoon Foundation and made possible for Miami’s community thanks to the generosity of the Blank Family Foundation.
