Before and After 10/7: Beit Issie Shapiro Provides Critical Services to Israelis

Immediately following the horrors of October 7, Federation beneficiary agency Beit Issie Shapiro expanded its work to help Israelis with and without disabilities who are struggling to rebuild their lives. In addition to providing more than 1,000 therapy sessions and respite visits for evacuees and residents of Israel’s north and south, Beit Issie has continued to provide free, essential services to more than 2,000 clients and their families each month. This includes emotional therapy, hydrotherapy, multisensory therapy, sports therapy, emergency dental treatments and special education for evacuee children with disabilities. As Israel’s leading developer and provider of innovative therapies and state-of-the-art services for children and adults, Beit Issie receives support from the Annual Greater Miami Jewish Federation/UJA Campaign and the Israel Emergency Fund. Click here to watch a video featuring Yael, a Beit Issie occupational therapist, who explains why the organization’s work is so critical right now.
