French Applications for Aliyah Double

Federation is supporting the significant increase in French aliyah (immigration to Israel), as applications double. Of the 29,000 new olim (immigrants to Israel) from around the world in the past year, nearly eight percent were from France. Plus, an additional 6,800 French citizens are currently engaged in the process. Since October 7, many French individuals are citing Zionism and rising concerns about antisemitism as major influences. “I’d like to be able to speak my mind and not hide my identity and opinions,” shared a French medical student contemplating aliyah. Federation partners not only facilitate global immigration to Israel, but also provide housing, employment assistance, intensive language classes and essential social services that help olim acclimate to Israeli life.
