Federation Continues Its Support of Israeli Female Business Owners

Israeli women comprise more than 50 percent of the micro and small business owners in the country. As entrepreneurs, they are particularly vulnerable when the economy falters in times of war, as many are single mothers and families relying on their business as their sole source of income. For many years, Federation has been prioritizing the needs and achievements of Israeli female small business owners through the Women’s Amutot Initiative, including the organization Yozmot Atid (Future Enterprises). The nonprofit provides women with comprehensive support, including business training, mentorship, micro-loans and promotional services to grow their enterprises. Following Hamas’ brutal attack, the organization established a national emergency response with a hotline, recovery packages and other resources for those impacted by the war. The Jewish Federations of North America has supplemented its support to Yozmot Atid with an additional $550,000 emergency grant to bolster these critical efforts. “These women are not looking for handouts; they want the tools and knowledge that will allow them to realize their skills and commitment to continued business growth,” said Yozmot Atid CEO Tsofit Gordon. “Their resilience is the resilience of the entire Israeli economy."
