Home Hospitality Needed For Miami Shinshinim

Federation is seeking warm and supportive host families for Tali Goldblat and Eden Ofir Hadad, two 18-year-old Israeli shinshinim (emissaries) dedicated to making a difference in Miami's Jewish community. Shinshinim are high school graduates who defer their time in the Israel Defense Forces to serve as cultural emissaries by sharing their knowledge of Israel, its history, culture and people with various groups throughout the Diaspora. Eden and Talia are both from Miami’s partner city of Yerucham and are looking forward to meeting the Miami community. Organized by our overseas partner The Jewish Agency for Israel, the shinshinim initiative brings Israel to life through educational activities around Jewish and Israeli culture, holidays, Hebrew instruction and more. Home hospitality can be for three months or longer and will begin August 24. Transportation is provided by the program. If you are interested in hosting one of the teens at some point throughout the year, please click here to complete an interest form.
