Join Your Jewish Community for Shabbat of Love

At a time when Jews everywhere are troubled by the war in Israel and rampant worldwide antisemitism, the Shabbat of Love — the largest Shabbat dinner celebration in North American history — provides the opportunity to celebrate Jewish light and love on Friday, January 19. Organized by the Jewish Federations of North America with support from the Jim Joseph Foundation and partners across the Jewish community, this unprecedented Shabbat of solidarity will unify Jews of all ages and backgrounds by bringing together family, friends and neighbors to experience the sacred joy of the Sabbath. Miami teens who participate in the Greater Miami Jewish Federation Jewish Volunteer Center’s MLK National Day of Service on January 14 will be preparing challah to bake for the Shabbat of Love. In addition, the Shabbat of Love website gives participants a choice to attend or host a dinner and offers a downloadable dinner guide with information on Shabbat rituals and even suggested discussion topics. The site also contains prompts for Acts of Love — “how to spread love the Jewish way” — such as volunteering in your community and writing a letter of support to Jewish students on campus.
