Day 7: Educating the next generation

Holocaust Survivor Anita Karl once said to high school students that “education is the most important tool we have against hate.” This embodies a core purpose of the Holocaust Memorial Miami Beach – to educate, empower and equip the public to fight back against antisemitism and hate.

Of particular note is the Memorial’s engagement work with school students of varying backgrounds and age levels. Its Ambassadors’ Program enables students to hear about Survivors' experiences firsthand and learn how to be proactive in fighting against antisemitism, racism and discrimination in their schools and communities. The Memorial also engages educators and teachers through its monthly newsletter, which reaches 1,200 teachers across the state of Florida.
