CAJE’s Jewish New Teacher Project Supports New and Experienced Teachers Alike
CAJE | The Center for the Advancement of Jewish Education, Federation's education agency, recently celebrated the completion of the 7th cohort of its Jewish New Teacher Project. The program pairs new and experienced teachers with one another for valuable insight, practical guidance and encouraging support. Over the past two years, 20 educators met regularly to discuss a variety of topics including lesson planning, classroom management and pedagogy. But the impact of this work extends far beyond the classroom. When new teachers feel supported, they are more likely to remain in the field, improving continuity for students and strengthening school communities overall. And when veteran teachers feel challenged with a new role, they, too, are more likely to continue teaching. One mentor said JNTP “encouraged me to reflect on my own practice and remain engaged with evolving educational approaches and perspectives.”
