It’s Almost Time for Our Israel 75 Miami Mega Mission

In just a few days, over 800 Miamians will assemble for our Greater Miami Jewish Federation Israel 75 Miami Mega Mission in Jerusalem, including 185 who will first travel to Poland to take part in the March of the Living. We are blessed to have participants of all ages traveling with us, from 18 to their mid-80s, with 88 people making their very first trip to Israel!  One hundred twenty-one of our participants are either the children or grandchildren of Holocaust Survivors, and – reflective of our diverse community – our group includes people from at least 21 different countries of origin.

This Mega Mission has been three years in the making. Indeed, we faced some significant challenges along the way, including, of course, the uncertainty of planning such a large-scale trip in the midst of a global pandemic. We learned quickly that our community is resilient and has an abiding sense of faith and hope in the future, to say nothing of its deep-seated connection to the people and the State of Israel. The response has been overwhelming and humbling and we are honored to be leading the largest delegation to Israel from anywhere in the world to celebrate the country’s 75th Anniversary.

When we say the Shehechiyanu blessing on April 20 in Jerusalem for this momentous occasion, for the opportunity to celebrate the miracle that is the modern State of Israel and for so many other reasons, we will miss many of you who cannot join us. Please follow our journey throughout the week on TV on WSVN Channel 7, in print and online in the Miami Herald and El Nuevo Herald, and beginning on April 20 at the start of the Mission, at Israel75MiamiMegaMission.org to view photos, videos and news coverage.

Please also mark your calendars to join us online for the live broadcast of Masa’s Yom Ha’Zikaron Memorial Ceremony on Monday, April 24, 2023 at Noon EST. The program will be broadcast on Masa's Facebook, Instagram and YouTube pages, as well as on the website of Haaretz in English, Ynet in English, Israel Hayom and The Jerusalem Post. Our community has much to be proud of and all of us at the Greater Miami Jewish Federation are grateful for the unity, the strength and the support of our wonderful Jewish community. May we all go from strength to strength!
