Federations and Birthright Partner to Send More Volunteers to Israel

Jewish Federations of North America (JFNA) and the Federation-funded Taglit-Birthright Israel are joining together to send at least 10,000 Jewish volunteers to help in Israel in 2025. Such assistance from the Diaspora is critically important to Israel at this time, as tens of thousands of Israelis continue to report for military reserve duty and fewer foreign workers are available. Over the past 18 months, volunteers have made meaningful contributions to Israel, supporting both the economy and Israel’s national food security. The experiences have been transformative, significantly strengthening their connections to Israel while fostering a profound sense of belonging with the Jewish community back home. The partnership between JFNA and Birthright Israel works to further Israel’s recovery and rebuilding, while also responding to the surge of interest in Jewish life since October 7.
