Federation Helps Provide Jewish Overnight Summer Camp Experiences

It may be the first week of school, but many Miami-area children are still thinking about the amazing summer they had at sleepaway camp. This past summer, Federation distributed more than $120,000 in scholarships, allowing 180 local kids to attend Jewish sleepaway camps of all religious streams. Federation recognizes that Jewish overnight summer camp experiences provide children with long-lasting friendships, self-discovery, and quite often, the spark for a lifetime of Jewish engagement. Since 2002, Federation's Annual Campaign has allocated more than $1.5 million to help local families afford overnight summer camp.
