Create a Jewish Legacy Continues to Reach Goals

A hearty yasher koach and thank you to who all who have participated so far in Create a Jewish Legacy (CJL). Because of their commitments to support the Jewish community, the Harold Grinspoon Foundation’s LIFE & LEGACY initiative has provided nearly $300,000 in incentive grants to the Greater Miami Jewish Federation’s partnering organizations. CJL is a collaborative program sponsored by The Foundation of the Greater Miami Jewish Federation in association with 14 Jewish organizations, day schools and synagogues. To date, CJL has received more than $40 million in estimated expected gifts from more than 600 donors and their families. Join us for a community celebration to commemorate CJL’s five-year anniversary on November 30. Details to come!

Foundation Chair Lily Serviansky acknowledged the power of community behind CJL’s achievements. “Success doesn’t happen by itself, and it is because of the commitment and talent of the professionals and lay leadership at each of these organizations that we have been able to accomplish so much together,” she said. “It’s about empowering our donors and our organizations with the knowledge and tools to permanently impact the future of our Jewish community.”

Through one perpetual gift, CJL provides donors with the opportunity to support a variety of organizations and interests that are most important to them, such as caring for the elderly, Jewish education, Israel advocacy and experience programs, and so much more. In addition to Federation, the 13 participating agencies in the program are Beth Torah Benny Rok Campus/Hochberg Preparatory School, Alper JCC Miami, Hebrew Academy, Jewish Community Services of South Florida, Kesher, Michael-Ann Russell JCC, Miami Beach JCC, Scheck Hillel Community School, Talmudic University, Temple Beth Am, Temple Beth Sholom, Temple Israel of Greater Miami, Temple Sinai of North Dade and University of Florida Hillel.
