Everything but the Turkey Makes a Difference for Those in Need

Last weekend, approximately 400 adults and children from Miami’s Jewish community volunteered with Federation’s Jewish Volunteer Center (JVC) for our 14th Annual Everything but the Turkey. Spread across two locations — Beth Torah Benny Rok Campus in Aventura and Dave and Mary Alper Jewish Community Center in South Dade — volunteers worked together to create 1,500 meals, 600 winter kits and 200 hygiene bags. With the hope of making Thanksgiving easier and more meaningful for local residents, the completed meals and finished products were distributed to 10 community fridges and three homeless shelters in the Miami area. As the holiday season continues, JVC is working hard to ensure vulnerable members of our community have what they need to celebrate and find moments of joy in the coming months. Please join our community at one of the upcoming service opportunities to give back to those who need it most this year.
