Israel Study Trip Explores Needs of Women

During a recent Israel Study Trip, Federation leaders learned how the needs of Israeli women have increased dramatically since October 7 and how Federation-funded programs are continually working to support and empower them. During a panel discussion with multiple amutot (organizations) Federation is working with, participants learned how gender disparity has permeated all aspects of Israeli society, from the workplace and the home to the political and foreign affairs arenas. Through the Annual Campaign and Israel Emergency Fund, Federation is supporting programs that address this pressing issue, including protecting women against violence and offering therapy to survivors of sexual assault; helping low-income, marginalized women achieve economic independence; advocating on public policy issues; and promoting leadership development in local government offices.
