Grants Available for Nonprofits Working With Aging Adults

While nearly all adults have experienced a traumatic event at some time in their lives, certain populations, like Holocaust Survivors, have gone through much greater difficulties that can affect the way they respond to crises. In recognition of this and through funding from The Jewish Federations of North America, since 2019 Federation has been providing grants for organizations working with aging adults who have undergone some form of trauma. While the original focus was on serving Holocaust Survivors, the Person-Centered Trauma-Informed (PCTI) Care program has since expanded to include foreign-born and LGBTQ older adults. Now Federation is offering the opportunity for nonprofits to apply for two-year grants to serve their clients who are confronting a physical, emotional or social crisis – or have the potential to encounter such a crisis. To apply for the grant, at least one representative from the interested nonprofit must attend a workshop on Wednesday, January 11 at Federation, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Other professionals who are interested in learning about PCTI may attend the training, and CEUs will be available.
