College Students Celebrate the Holidays at Hillel

sukkah

Jewish students at Florida International University (FIU) and the University of Miami (UM) enjoyed opportunities to celebrate the holidays in meaningful ways through Federation-supported campus Hillels. At FIU, more than 70 students gathered for a Rosh Hashanah comedy night. Students also participated in a pre-fast feast in preparation for Yom Kippur and a week of Sukkot events that included activities focusing on health and wellness. At UM, more than 500 students participated in High Holiday activities, including traditional and alternative services. Students also completed a tashlich program on campus. During Sukkot, students enjoyed Services and Subs in the Sukkah, an educational event focusing on Israel activism. Your Federation contribution helps support seven Hillels across Florida, including Central Florida Hillel, Hillel at FIU, Hillel at FSU, Hillel of Broward and Palm Beach, Hillels of Florida Suncoast, UF Hillel and UM Hillel.
