This year, more than 5,000 Miami-Dade students received a formal Jewish education in Jewish day schools and congregational schools. Through generous donations made to the Annual Federation/UJA Campaign, more than $2 million in grants and scholarships were allocated to 11 Jewish day schools and 11 congregational schools in our community.
Through our partner agency, Jewish Community Services of South Florida (JCS), and generous contributions to the Annual Federation/UJA Campaign, hundreds of underserved and at-risk families in Miami, in addition to many Holocaust survivors, have access to the JCS Kosher Food Bank.

With great sadness, the Greater Miami Jewish Federation mourns the passing of Myron J. “Mike” Brodie, of blessed memory, a former Executive Vice President of Federation from 1972 to 1992, and an active Vice President, Emeritus following his formal retirement.
Recognizing that Jewish overnight camp is an important part of strengthening a child’s Jewish identity, Federation distributed more than $122,000 to Miami-area children ages 8 to 17 to attend camp this summer.
This past year, Federation and our overseas partner, The Jewish Agency for Israel, helped nearly 100 at-risk preteens and adolescents through community-based mentoring in Miami’s partnership city of Yerucham. Youth Futures, a Jewish Agency flagship program, trains local mentors to work as trusted guides and help students improve school performance, strengthen social integration and inspire community engagement.
The summer camp countdown has begun! While local campers look forward to their days at one of our three Jewish community centers’ camps, more than 1,000 young Jews from all over the world are eager to arrive at Camp Tsarvas.
Last week, nearly 150 real estate professionals attended Federation’s Real Estate Speaker Series with industry leader Chaim Katzman. The event welcomed architects, brokers, developers, contractors and professionals affiliated with these trades.
