South Florida Native Jared “Jewish Jet” Firestone Achieves Olympic Dream Representing Israel

“Representing Israel at the Olympics has been a 20-year dream in the making that’s now a reality,” said Jared Firestone, a member of our Miami community who is competing in the 2026 Winter Olympic Games in the high-speed sliding sport of skeleton. A South Florida native and resident of Miami Beach, Jared traveled to Israel with Federation on our Israel 75 Miami Mega Mission in 2023. He attended Scheck Hillel Community School and participated in March of the Living and Birthright Israel. In Milan, Jared had the honor of being a flag-bearer during the Games’ Opening Ceremonies. He began competing internationally in 2019, and in 2022 became the first Israeli athlete to win gold in a skeleton race at an Olympic-discipline event. Kol Hakavod, Jared Firestone! We are so proud to witness your Olympic dream and call you part of Jewish Miami. Follow his journey on Instagram @jaredfirestone.
