Former Hostage Emily Damari Become Honorary Lion of Judah

At this week’s Women’s Philanthropy (WP) Lion of Judah event, former hostage Emily Damari became an honorary Lion of Judah recognizing her fierce courage. More than 600 guests attended the brunch, which featured a candid and emotional conversation between renowned Israeli journalist Tamar Ish-Shalom and Damari, who spoke about being held captive for 471 days in Gaza. The annual event was chaired by Jill Hertzberg, her daughters Jerri Hertzberg Bassuk and Hillary Hertzberg Benson and daughter-in-law Amanda Chamberlain Hertzberg, all second-generation Lions. WP Campaign Chair Leslie Benitah shared her experiences in Israel and Paris, where she witnessed Federation in action. WP President Amanda Adler and Jewish Miami Legacy Committee Chair and Past WP President Laura Koffsky were also part of the program.
