Norman Braman Way: A Philanthropic Leader is Honored With a Street in Miami Beach

Earlier this week, the City of Miami Beach Commission voted to rename a portion of 17th Street in honor of Norman Braman, an outstanding community leader. Seventeenth Street, between Washington Avenue and Alton Road, will now be known as Norman Braman Way. Braman’s philanthropic leadership has made an indelible impact, advancing a number of important causes, chief among them preserving the memory of the Holocaust and advancing Holocaust education. Braman is the Founding Chair of the Holocaust Memorial Miami Beach and served in many leadership roles in the Jewish community, including as a Past President of the Greater Miami Jewish Federation. Braman has also been a generous and passionate advocate for cancer care and a patron of the arts. He is credited with bringing Art Basel to Miami Beach and building the Institute of Contemporary Art in the Design District. The owner of Braman Motors, Braman moved to Miami in 1969 from Philadelphia. Jewish Miami sends a heartfelt Mazal Tov and thank you to Norman Braman on this recognition and for his years of support and activism on behalf of our community.
